Originating from perpetual-night subterranean rifts within the Hollow Earth, Camazotz was chronicled and feared by ancient Mesoamerican civilizations as the lord of nocturnal slaughter and airborne pestilence.

Following Ghidorah's wake-up roar in 2019, Camazotz used the chaotic energy surges to burrow upwards through Skull Island's fissures, bringing a dark supercell storm to extinguish the island's sunlight.
